You will be using a drill everyday to fit locks, drill open locks and adjust wooden doors so make sure you invest in a good quality one that will last. A set of decent chisels is a sign of a decent locksmith! You will need nice sharp chisels to fit locks and the last thing you want is a blunt chisel which will not only make your work more labor intensive – you also risk damaging the customers door. You will need drill bits for both metal and wood including flat ‘spade bits’ for drilling larger holes to fit locks. I recommend going for a set that has a mixture of everything. My favorite tool of them all and the cheapest! I always carry a piece of Mica in my pocket as it’s the most used tool of them all.
