Back in 2009 I was working for a locksmith company that got hit hard by the recession. Basically the boss called us into the office one morning and told all the staff that he had no money for wages.
At the time, I was not in a good position, I had direct debits and debt!
I decided to start my own business. It wasn’t really a conscious move it was just the only thing I could do at the time as other companies in my area weren’t taking on any new staff.
I knew that if I could just get a locksmith website and get it to the top of google – I would have a business! It’s that simple. The reason I knew this is through working for many other locksmith companies, some were higher on google than others and it was always the ones that were high on the google search results that were not only surviving but extremely successful and lucrative.
So I went to work, firstly getting a domain name for myself that would make sense for my area. I chose: www.emergencylocksmithbrighton.com
Why this domain?
Well it’s simple, I done some keyword research and I found that when people needed a locksmith in my area – this was the exact keywords they were typing into google.
So I thought I would set this site up myself and by next week it would be on the first page of google.. I was wrong!
It took a lot of study, research and trial and error before I even got to page 1 but eventually I did it with the help of a couple of companies called Long tail pro and Backlink Beast.
Anyway not to go too far off this topic! 10 years on this same website is still going and is still in the top of the search results! As a result of that I have a very successful locksmith business here in the UK.
Back then I realized that there were no other companies helping out potential locksmiths, so recently I decided to create this website along with How To Become A Locksmith Online Course.
My aim with this website is to give as much value as possible and guidance for anyone who is thinking of becoming a locksmith or taking an online locksmith course.
I want to share my knowledge with you and give you a blueprint to follow.
Because I believe that when you model someone else’s success you can cut your learning time by many years!
